June Update (3 Months)

Time is flying by so quickly and I feel like my time home with Gunnar is running out - only 2.5 more weeks until I go back to work officially. However, I've discussed with my boss the potential of working from home a few days per week - so we'll see how that goes once I get back into the swing of things.

I try and take at least one picture a day of Gunnar to document his progress. I just spent a few moments looking back through my previous blog entries and I'm so amazed at how much he has grown!

Gunnar hit his official 3 month birthday yesterday (Friday the 13th) and he also had a weight check appointment at the Dr. this week too. He weighed in at 10lbs 10oz. That's up over 2 lbs from our 2-month weigh in. He's doing awesome!

Here are some of the latest pictures on my phone the past few weeks :)

Ramin's parents came for a 2-week visit during the second half of May. I'll create a separate entry for additional pictures of the trip we all took together to some of Utah's national parks.

A few cute random pictures of baby boy.

One of my first smiles I captured!

One of the first times in his Bumbo seat. He was unsure at first...

...and then he wanted to get out!

More random Gunnar faces. He makes the cutest smiley faces and then the most hilarious mad face with his eyebrows scrunched up.

Tummy time in his room.

Gunnar's First Two Months

Gunnar turned 2 months old this past week and I've taken so many pictures to document his life so far. Here are the details:

When Gunnar was able to finally come home with us we were so excited! We were finally going to be able to take care of him ourselves and not have things dictated to us by anyone (while the NICU was GREAT, it's still liberating to do things the way YOU want to do them).

He did have to come home on oxygen and I still felt rather tied up due to the tubing and monitor he had to wear. But, he seemed to love being home.

The day after we came home he had his first "real" doctor's appointment. We packed up everything (oxygen and monitor) into the car and headed out. He did SO well at his appointment and he weighed in at 5lbs 3oz.

His reflux at first was pretty bad and so we had to configure his bassinet to be upright like he was in the NICU. He didn't like his bassinet very much and had a rough time sleeping in it. But, there were a few times where he was peaceful.

Gunnar's "Oooooh" face. He likes to do this a lot.

Every now and then I tested out taking off the oxygen and Gunnar really seemed to do well without it. He also likes tummy time! This is one of my favorite pictures!

He loves stretching and raising his arms.

Gunnar looks so tiny in his car seat. I take him for walks in the neighborhood a lot when it's nice out.

One month old! Look how big his sticker is!

It's so beautiful to watch him sleep.

First bath at home. He loooooves bath time - he hates getting out though.

I just love how he's laying on his arm here.

He was still on and off the oxygen at this point.

When Easter rolled around I put Gunnar in his an outfit that said "My First Easter" on it given to me by my friend Jenn Fairbanks.

Some other random cute pictures recently.

I just love this one of Ramin and the baby sleeping on him. It really shows how tiny Gunnar was at that time.

Weight check at the doctor's office. He weighed in at 6lbs here.

A friend got me a Moby wrap for one of my baby showers. In order to keep Gunnar close to me I try to wear it a few times a week. This was one of my first attempts.

Uncle Chris came to visit and this was his first time holding Gunnar. He loved it!

I put Gunnar in his crib once a day to let him hear some music and look at himself in the mirror - he loves it! It's the only time he is actually in his crib because at night he either sleeps in his swing or on one of us.

After bath time - he's either really happy and cute....or crying until we put his clothes on :P

His official 2 month picture with his frog and lion stuffies.

One more after eating breakfast he decided to fall asleep like this.
