Week #30 Update

Holy crap! I've made it into the "30s"! How is it possible I've been pregnant for 30 weeks already? It feels like just yesterday that I found out. There's still so much to do and I've only got 9 more weeks (hopefully). Why is it that 2 months sounds like a longer amount of time than 9 weeks? I don't get it :P

Anyway. this past week was NUTS for me. I was extremely focused and busy with getting my massive training facilitated at work. Did I mention last week that it was 4 sessions and each one was 3 hours long? They were great though and I'm now glad they're over with because I get to focus on tying up lose ends for the remaining two months of work. I feel like now I can focus more on Baby Gilbert and get things arranged and planned for his arrival. There are still 2 baby showers to get through, finding a pediatrician, finishing the nursery, attending my 2 classes (breastfeeding and 3rd trimester) AND packing for the hospital. FUN!

Don't worry though, I did take care of myself during this intense week. During all of my training sessions I made sure to wear my sturdy maternity belt to help support my back because I knew I would be standing for long periods of time. It was a life saver. Also, because I had TWO sessions on Thursday I figured it would be the perfect night for me to use my prenatal massage that Ramin bought for me for Valentine's day. I LOVED that massage. And on Saturday morning I attended water aerobics class with my friend Angie. We've decided we're going to go together every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. I just LOVE the feeling of being weightless in the water - so good for my joints!

My mom finished painting my old dresser for the nursery this week and so Ramin and I went and picked it up Saturday afternoon. We got it situated and this morning I took the opportunity to organize the nursery - I could FINALLY put away all of those wonderful clothes Genevieve and Dayna gave to me :)

Here's what I documented:

This is the dresser completely ready for filling up! It's the same color as the rocking chair.

This is what the nursery looked like when I started out this morning. Clothes in bags, things in boxes, etc....just overall NOT organized!

Another view of the unorganized nursery

First task: Take out ALL of the clothes I've received thus far and separate them by style and then by size...I already have TONS of stuff :)

I only have one set of baby hangers thus far (I'm hoping to get more from the showers), so I was choosy about what I hung up. I hung up jackets and full body outfits as well as a few polos and dress shirts.

I also cleaned out the junk I had stored in the organizer....I don't know how I'll use this eventually, but for now it's holding random things like pacifiers, baby locks, toys, and some really old crocheted clothes my grandma made for me when I was a baby :)

One of my next tasks is to drag Ramin with me to Ikea so we can buy some shelves. I have LOTS of fun ideas for my shelves, but for now I placed a few items on top of the dresser. The new Carter's "Over the Moon" lamp/clock, picture frame and of course the very vintage children's books my Mom gave to me - she used to read them when she was little.

I rearranged where I had the crib and moved the rocking chair so it fits nicely into the corner. I'm not sure if this will be the final arrangement of everything....I need to work with Ramin on hanging up all of the wall decor and he'll help me decide how it should look....until then though, this is the first attempt.

My mom lined all of the drawers of the dresser with cute baby paper! Great idea :) I "sort of" organized things....the top two drawers are all onesies. I designated the left drawer as the "newborn" drawer. You can see, I don't have much in there yet. Hopefully that will change :P The right drawer is all 3-6 month onesies. TONS of them!

The middle drawer is all about sleepers, again arranged by size (minus newborn) and it also has the 9+ month onesies as well.

And finally, the bottom drawer is all about pants, shorts and sweats. It also has a few muscle tees and regular t-shirts. There are sooooo many cute things in here....I got giddy as I was putting away all of these clothes. I can't WAIT until I get to dress my little man up every day :)

How far along: 30 weeks, 6 days
Total Weight Gain/Loss: Stayed the same since last week. Still down the 2lbs since my last appointment.
Wedding Ring on?:  ON!
Major SymptomsNothing other than the usual slight back and hip pain. It's nothing I can't handle.
Stretch marksOh yes!
SleepI really wish I could sleep in....but my body won't let me. Short naps are the key to getting any extra sleep. I'm sure my body is just preparing me for when baby gets here :P
Best moment last week: Getting my HUGE work project out of the way! It's like that dark cloud you knew had to pass over you finally did and now it's all sunshine again :)
MovementMy pregnancy apps all say that I should start feeling him move differently, and I definitely agree with this. I'm still amazed that I feel him in there...it truly is one of the best feelings in the world!
Food cravings/aversions: Nothing
Belly button - in or out? In
Labor signsNone
What I miss: Finally I will write something here - being able to sleep in without hip/back pain.
What I am looking forward to: Next appointment - March 3rd
MilestonesFinishing the first week of the 30s!! Getting so much closer now!
